Holistic Kids

Founder of Holistic Kids, passionate about helping families discover the many holistic options available to support their children’s wellbeing. With a background in social work and children’s wellbeing, I believe in looking at the whole child across cognitive, physical, emotional, social and spiritual health. I’m equally passionate about creating opportunities for holistic practitioners to be seen, valued and connected with the families searching for what they offer.

Holistic Kids

Holistic Kids is an online community hub connecting families with holistic practitioners, products, events and resources that support children and families.

We bring together a diverse range of modalities across the five pillars of wellbeing: cognitive, physical, emotional, social and spiritual, helping families discover options they may not have known existed and make more informed choices for their children.

At the same time, we support holistic practitioners and aligned businesses to increase their visibility, connect with families and grow thriving, sustainable practices.

Our vision is simple: to create a trusted ecosystem where families can explore their options and holistic businesses can be discovered.

Because when businesses shine, our children thrive.

Distinguished and Famous people from Healesville

🦘 Sir Colin MacKenzie

Anatomist Colin MacKenzie established a field station at Badger Creek, Healesville, after obtaining use of bushland there in 1920. He paid for fencing, animal pens, accommodation and facilities supporting research into Australian fauna. After leaving the site, he proposed its development as a larger reserve. The Sir Colin MacKenzie Sanctuary opened in 1934 and became widely known as Healesville Sanctuary. His local legacy links comparative anatomy with the protection and study of native animals, well before the site became a familiar family destination.

🦆 David Fleay

David Fleay became director of the sanctuary at Badger Creek, Healesville, in November 1937. He developed natural settings for native animals and combined public education with scientific study. In 1943 he achieved the first successful breeding of platypuses in captivity, bringing international attention. His insistence on animal care and research could clash with management’s concern for visitor revenue, leading to dismissal and later re-employment after an inquiry. The Healesville connection is sustained professional work, with both achievement and institutional friction. Behind the familiar wildlife attraction were difficult questions about what a sanctuary should put first.
